About this tool
WRRK's collage maker is a browser-only tool that combines up to 9 photos into one shareable image using the Canvas API. There are no uploads, no servers, and no copies of your photos anywhere except your own device. It works offline once loaded and has no watermark.
Five grid layouts cover the most common collage needs — side-by-side before/after (2×1), stacked vertical pairs (1×2), four-up squares (2×2), full Instagram-style grids (3×3), and a hero-plus-two layout (1+2). Each photo is cover-cropped to fill its cell while preserving its aspect ratio, so portraits and landscapes mix cleanly. You can reorder photos by drag, change the background colour, and adjust the gap from edge-to-edge to a wide polaroid border.
How to make an image collage (5 steps)
- Drop your photos. Add 2 to 9 images in any common format. Drag to reorder them — slot 1 goes top-left.
- Pick a layout. Choose a grid: 2×1, 1×2, 2×2, 3×3, or 1+2 (one big photo on the left, two stacked on the right).
- Set background and gap. Pick a background colour and gap size (0 for edge-to-edge, larger gap for a polaroid look).
- Choose output size. Pick a square output resolution — 1600 px is great for social, 3200 px for print.
- Download. Click 'Generate' to render the collage on Canvas, then download as PNG or JPG.

Frequently asked questions
+−How many photos can I combine in one collage?
Between 2 and 9. The available layouts depend on your photo count: 2 photos work in 2×1, 1×2, or 1+2; up to 4 fit in a 2×2 grid; up to 9 fit in a 3×3 grid.
+−Can I change the gap between photos?
Yes. Adjust the gap from 0 (photos touch edge-to-edge) to 50 px. The gap takes the background colour you pick — solid white, black, or any custom hex.
+−What output formats are supported?
PNG (lossless, supports transparent gaps) or JPG (smaller file, white-only background). For social media, JPG is fine; for printing or further editing, use PNG.
+−Does the collage have a watermark?
No. Output is clean — no watermark, no signup, no email required.
+−Are my photos uploaded to a server?
No. The whole collage is composed in your browser using the HTML Canvas API. Photos never leave your device.
+−How are photos cropped to fit each cell?
Each photo is cover-cropped — scaled to fill its cell while preserving its aspect ratio, centred, with overflow trimmed. Reorder photos to control which gets the most prominent slot.
+−What output resolution can I get?
Default is 1600×1600 px, more than enough for Instagram, WhatsApp, and most prints. Bump to 3200×3200 for high-res printing or large displays.
