About this URL shortener
Most free URL shorteners ask for an email within a week or paywall the features that make a shortener actually useful — custom aliases, click counts, no expiry. WRRK's shortener has all of those, free, no signup required.
Random codes are 7 characters from a 56-character alphabet (we strip out the visually ambiguous 0 O 1 l I), which gives ~9.7×1011 possibilities — collision-proof for practical purposes. Codes are stored in DynamoDB in ap-south-1; redirects fire from the same region. The link itself is a standard HTTP 302 — works in every browser, every email client, every chat app.
Click counts increment per redirect (we don't store IPs or device fingerprints). There's no analytics UI yet — we'll add a /stats/[code] view in a future iteration.

Yes — completely free, no signup, no expiry, no ads on the redirect. Built by the team at wrrk.ai because every other free shortener tries to upsell you to a paid plan within 48 hours.
+−How long do short links last?
Indefinitely. We don't expire links. As long as wrrk.space is online, your short link will redirect to its destination.
+−Can I pick my own custom code?
Yes. Tick 'custom alias' and enter letters, digits, dashes, or underscores (max 32 chars). If the code is already taken or reserved, we'll tell you so you can pick another.
+−Do you track who clicks my link?
We count total clicks per link, but we do not store IP addresses, device fingerprints, or user identities. The click count is for your own use — there's no analytics dashboard yet.
+−Can I shorten a link to wrrk.space?
No. We block self-redirects (wrrk.space → wrrk.space) to prevent loops and abuse of our domain.
+−What format are the short codes?
Random codes are 7 characters from a base62 alphabet (uppercase + lowercase + digits, with confusing chars like 0/O/I/l removed). That's roughly 3.5 trillion possible codes — collisions are astronomically rare.
+−Can I edit or delete a short link after creation?
Not yet — once created, a short link is permanent. We may add edit/delete in a future version. Pick your destination URL carefully before clicking shorten.
