About this tool
A monthly salary slip is the canonical document Indian employees use for loan applications, visa filings, rent agreements and tax assessments. It records gross earnings, statutory deductions and the net amount actually credited to the bank account. Deductions are a mix of central and state rules: EPF (Provident Fund, 12% of Basic + DA, with the statutory cap making the contribution ₹1,800 when Basic exceeds ₹15,000), ESI (medical insurance, 0.75% of gross when gross ≤ ₹21,000), and professional tax — a state-level levy whose existence and amount vary by state.
TDS (income tax deducted at source) is not auto-calculated here because it depends on annual taxable income, regime (old vs new), and deductions declared in Form 12BB / Form 12BA. Most employers run a year-end true-up, so the monthly TDS shown on the payslip is itself an estimate. Enter it as quoted by your employer's payroll system; the form computes Net Pay live.
The output is a clean, single-page A4 PDF with earnings on the left, deductions on the right, and Net Pay in figures and words at the bottom. Everything runs in your browser — nothing is uploaded.
How to generate a payslip (5 steps)
- Enter company + employee details. Company name + address, employee name, ID, designation, department, pay period (month + year), payment date and bank account.
- Add earnings. Basic, HRA, conveyance, special allowance, medical, LTA, bonus, overtime — anything zero is hidden on the printed slip.
- Pick your state. Profession tax varies — Maharashtra and Karnataka charge ₹200, Tamil Nadu ₹208, several states don't charge PT at all. The tool picks the right amount automatically.
- Verify auto-deductions. EPF (12% of basic, capped at ₹1,800/mo if Basic > ₹15K) and ESI (0.75% if Basic ≤ ₹21K) are auto-calculated. Override any line if your payroll uses a different formula.
- Generate PDF. Net Pay updates live. Tap 'Generate PDF' to download a single-page A4 payslip with earnings, deductions and net pay in figures and words.

- Visa / immigration filings (US, UK, Schengen often want 3 months)
- Verifying your employer's computation against statutory rules
Frequently asked questions
+−How is EPF calculated in India?
Employee Provident Fund (EPF) is 12% of Basic + DA. If Basic + DA exceeds ₹15,000/month, the statutory cap on the contribution is ₹1,800/month — though many employers contribute on the actual figure. This tool defaults to the cap; if your company contributes on full basic, override the deduction manually.
+−Who pays ESI and at what rate?
Employees' State Insurance (ESI) covers employees earning up to ₹21,000/month gross. The employee share is 0.75% of gross wages and the employer pays 3.25%. If Basic exceeds ₹21,000, ESI doesn't apply — the tool zeroes it automatically.
+−How does professional tax work — and why does it depend on state?
Professional tax (PT) is a state-level levy, not central. Maharashtra, Karnataka, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and a few others charge PT (typically ₹200/month). Delhi, UP, Haryana and several other states don't levy PT at all — pick 'No PT' if your state doesn't apply.
+−Can the tool calculate TDS for me?
Not automatically. TDS depends on annual taxable income, regime choice (old vs new), declared deductions (80C, 80D, HRA), perquisites, and the assessment year — too many inputs for a single payslip tool. Enter the monthly TDS as quoted by your employer or as computed in your Form 12BA / payroll system.
+−Does this payslip have legal validity?
A payslip is a record of payment, not a statutory return. For employer-issued payslips to be admissible (e.g. for visa or loan applications) they should match the employer's books and Form 16 / EPF / ESI returns. If you generate one for a contractor or yourself, label it accurately and pair it with bank-credit proof.
+−Why does Net Pay sometimes look lower than expected?
Net Pay = Total Earnings − Total Deductions. The biggest hits are typically EPF (12% of basic), TDS (income tax) and any voluntary PF or insurance deductions. Bonuses paid in a different cycle won't appear on the regular monthly slip.
+−Is my data sent to a server?
No. The form runs entirely in your browser and the PDF is generated locally. Nothing is uploaded, logged or stored externally.
